This fabric yardage is embellished using Shibori, a japanese surface design technique, which allows Sandra to bring together unrelated aesthetic elements leading to the sense of surprise she cherishes. Her surface embellishment is always experimental so that she can discover the unknown. Layers of visual texture reflect the layers of life. Sandra's use of color is untamed, yet unified. Braided and Arashi Shibori are literally looking for a "new twist." The metaphor is complete when realizing that the adventurous life, the adventurous artist, is always looking for a "new twist." |
